Hold Elected Officals Accountable

Thomas G. Brown |

Now that the elections are over and that Republicans have taken over the House on the stance of smaller government and less intrusion by government into our lives we must act on these issues. It is not enough for these candidates to run on these issues they must now “Walk the Walk”. We must hold them accountable and if we are to do so we must know what we want them to do and how they should vote.

First and foremost we must figure out what we want our government to do and what we want out government to leave alone. Well this may sound like a huge challenge as there are multiple issues brought up by the mainstream media that we must focus on each day but it really simple. We have a Federal Constitution to lead us and point out what our elected representatives not “law makers” but elected representatives can and cannot do legally. The government since Lincoln has strayed further and further away which is a breach of contract. We must hold them accountable and force them to adhere to this contract and vote NO on every piece of legislation that is against the Constitution.

In addition there are a huge array of programs, agencies, and laws that are blatantly unconstitutional. For example the Federal Reserve which is a private bank in charge of our money policy. Money as defined by the Constitution in Article I, Section 10, Clause 1. “No State shall…coin Money; emit Bills of Credit; make any Thing but gold and silver Coin a Tender in Payment of Debt.” To put it plainly gold and silver are money and not the fiat paper of the Federal Reserve.
We must follow up frequently and assure that our elected representatives are following the Constitution and if they are not. Point it out to them and if the ignore you push for them to step down or be impeached for violating their oath of office. We don’t have the luxury to sit back and wait for someone else to do what is right. We must root out enemies of our way of life both foreign and domestic.
Thank you for taking time to read this and please forward this others who can help us get this accountability movement up and running. We must act now to stem the tide and get back to a liberty loving country where law is a shield for the citizen and not a sword to be wheeled by the government.
